Learning Through Experiences
"Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire."

My Teaching Perspective Inventory
According to my Teacher Perspective Inventory I primarily teach from a nurturing perspective, closely followed by an apprenticeship perspective.
Nuturing Perspective
Nuturing perspective is based on the idea that learning is best done in a safe environment in which the learner can be vulnerable and without fear of failure. Nurturing teachers focus on providing the learner with support and encouragement while ensuring that there are clear expectations laid out. They have high expectations for their students and try to nuture them to reach their full potential.
Apprenticeship Perspective
The apprenticeship perspective focuses on authentic teaching and learning through experiences; students focus on relevant tasks. Apprenticeship teachers believe in community learning.
